It offers an aluminum frame to reduce weight and gives you a comfortable ride at speeds up to 15 MPH and range up to 25 miles (add a second battery pack to increase it). It also gives you the option to use with pedal assist or just twist and go for a fun ride every time.

Amazon.com Product Description
Get a boost up steep hills with the Izip Trailz AL electric comfort bike for men, which allows you to ride as you would with any other in-city bike but also provides a battery-powered motor for an assist when you need it. With the TAG/PAS technology (Twist and Go or Pedal Assist), you can use the bike with motor only or with motor assist power. The bike rack has an SLA (sealed lead acid) battery mounted to it, which enables you to swap it out for an optional secondary battery. The rack also provides an easy way to carry gear or groceries using an optional pannier system.

The removable SLA rechargeable battery (above) and easy-to-operate handlebar controller.
The battery offers a range of 15 to 20 miles per charge, so you can make it back and forth to the grocery store several times without running low on power. And once you're on the road, the Trailz boasts a top speed of 15 miles per hour (depending on rider weight)--plenty fast enough for most bike-friendly city streets.

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R32SNB0MUNJELR The person who wrote the review before me must be really shot out or likes to bash something he knows nothing about.? "Get real dude..!"_____

The "AL" stands for "Aluminum" It's a totally Hybrid electric bike and it has very high gearing for those who have the ability to peddle beond the "( 17 mph motor cut off speeds ) "Legal limit" in most states.____First gear is the "MegaGear" which is a low gear for hills, taking off, pulling cargo trailers, head winds.____2nd gear on the 2009 iZip Moutain Trailz AL Black is like the 4th gear on the heavy 2008 eZip Trailz that I use to carry extremely heavy loads with.

If you like a light weight and high geared bike and able to peddle beond the motor cut off speeds of 17+ mph then this bike is for you, But if your like me and need a bike that is able to carry heavy loads then get the 2008 eZip Trailz bike.

I will be using the 2009 iZip MT AL for just running to the bank and other places with, I may carry some light items on the bike but nothing like I do on my 2008 eZip Trailz.

The aluminum hubs the 2009 iZip MT AL has will not handle heavy loads like the 2008 eZip Trailz, The spokes will rip right out of the hubs under the same weight I carry on my 2008 eZip Trailz.

5 out of 5 stars Kid Again!   November 2, 2009

Everything implied and more. Well constructed, well engineered, easily operated. Biking is fun again. Once again I can easily conquer rapid elevation gains and tricky terrain. We're talking mountain biking here; I don't go on roads. The bike is easy to load in the back of the pickup (sans battery), that goes on the passenger floor. As much as you can love an inanimate object, I love that bike. Though I'm 65, when I'm on that bike on a trail, I'm a kid again. Move over grandkids, here comes Grampa!

I received my izip trailz. Put it together that night and charged up the battery. Everything went together just fine. Had to adjust the brakes. Its been raining here so couldn't get out for a ride. However, I did test it and it does run.

*Update: Put air in the tires rode around a couple of miles. Rode up hill, flat land and down hill. The bike rode nicely in all of those conditions. Turning on the juice (electrical power) was nice especially going up a hill !

Only negative thing I can say about it is its weight. I hope currie technologies make a lighter batter for this bike in the near future.

**Update:
Since it was raining, I couldn't ride it for a while. I finally rode it on valentines day and took a 15 mile ride. On flat land I pedaled and going down hill I coasted. When traveling UP HILL, this is where this bike shines. It effortlessly goes up hill without a problem. At the end of my bike trip, I still had juice left in the battery.
This is my first electric bike and I love it !

I bought this bike for myself along with womens trailz al for my wife Bike arrived with huge hole in side of box and the top ripped open but there was no damage to bike and all parts were there. Assembly took about 30 mins The battery was doa charged 8 hrs still only went 1 block. Currie tech support very nice & helpful they are sending another battery but I had to pay shipping not real happy about that but , oh well bike seems very sturdy ,a bit heavy but was expected because of battery & motor rides nice I like the TAG & PAS system would not want PAS system only as sometimes just dont want to pedal The bike looks very nice. The motor does seem to get hot & lose power if run at full speed for a while hoping wont be a problem after breaks in Also 1 warning the batt lock is not for security as the keys from either bike unlock it, maybe all keys are the same ? would definetly recommend this bike especially for the price I will probaly get exta battery to extend range added speedometer & basket

This came and I had to put the handels bars on but it was not hard...
the front wheel was also not hard to get on... I did read the book and do the
first charge of the battery the right way.. Im 240lbs, and with my first ride
I did only get to about 17 mph AT MAX, on 100% flat grounds... SO I ordered a gas
motor Kit and I am removing all the electric stuff and Now Im happy.
