Comfortable, light, and moves massive amounts of air April 4, 2010

After doing a ton of research I decided on the Shoei RF-1000 based on all of the reviews and comments. With that said, the benefits of this helmet cannot be understated. When "they" say light weight they mean light weight. You barely feel that the helmet is on your head. I live in NYC, do both city and highway riding, and I ride in rainy, cold, and hot weather (nothing too hot the real summer has not arrived yet). In this helmet you can really feel the air moving (especially at speed) so much so that you will probably need to close serveral of the vents b/c you head will get cold. The chin insert is a great touch for those 60 degree and below days when riding down the freeway can get a little chilly. I have not had any issues with fogging; however, you will need to purchase a tinted visor b/c you will not be able to wear sun glasses or glasses in general while wearing this helmet (at least without some modifications to the pads). Long story short for all of us you opt for the full face helmet the Shoei-RF 1000 is worth every penny. I love mine and any all of my friends who ride also love my helmet over thiers.
