Amazon.com Product Description A great choice for beginning bike riders, Bell Bellino bike helmet provides colorful style and peace-of-mind protection to your toddler. The Bellino comes in two fun designs--orange monster trucks for boys and pink teddy bears for girls. It offers the same sturdy construction and design as Bell's adult helmets, and it features a built-in visor for squint-free rides. The SmartFit system helps to ensure a correct, comfy fit and extended rear coverage provides extra protection. Other features include a PinchGuard buckle for no-pinch buckling and eight top vents to keep your child's head cool and comfortable. It's sized for toddlers with heads measuring 19 to 20.5 inches in diameter. Fitting a Helmet Here are some guidelines to getting the best fit for a bike helmet. - Eyes: The rim of the helmet should be up to 1 to 2 finger widths above the eyebrows
- Ears: The straps should form a V under just beneath the ear lobe
- Mouth: When the rider opens her mouth, the buckle should feel snug on the chin and the helmet should hug the head
Before using the helmet, stand in front of the mirror and grab the helmet with both hands and twist it to the left and to the right. If the helmet fits right, the skin on the forehead will move as the helmet moves. If it does not, then the helmet is too loose and is unsafe for use and you need to start over. Keep your little lion safe the easy way! December 28, 2009 R. Buchholz (Boscobel WI) We have four children under age six. We love to go on family bike rides and all wear helmets. This little helmet was a wonderful addition to our safety equipment collection when our 2 1/2 year old boy refused to wear a helmet for bike riding/carrier riding. Mind you, he had never known anything else until seeing some of our neighborhood older kids riding without helmets. Our rule is "no helmet, no bike". Our little lion loved this helmet and wore it without complaint. He told the other kids that it was sure too bad that they didn't have a lion helmet like his.
The helmet meets all safety requirements and is certified as such. There is also a handy sticker included for writing your name and address inside the helmet. The bonus for this helmet is its charming lion with a "real" mane. There is fake fur for the lion's mane on both sides of the helmet. Adorable!
It does everything it should January 11, 2010 Nicholas Cox What can I say, it's a Styrofoam hat with plastic taped to it just like any other cycle helmet. Well Ok I do have this to say.
It's easy to put on a child, the straps adjust well so it will grow with your childs head and the strap design means it will not just pop off if they do chance to come of their bike, trike, rollerskates etc. My daughter can't pull it off once it's strapped on so as these things go it's a winner. Yes I would by another Bell product.
Cute enough, functional August 1, 2008 S. Milano (Columbus, GA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
My son has this helmet and he just loves to wear it when he is riding his scooter. I did not know the lion's mane was fuzzy hair when I purchased it online. So he looks like he's got two puppy dog ears when he is wearing it - pretty funny. It fits well, is comfortable, and keeps his little head protected.
great for a 35 pound girl August 2, 2008 M. Brownell (APO) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
