Product Description The Bell Influx Mountain Bike Helmet is constructed with a fusion in-mold microshell, which utilizes the process of bonding the helmet's microshell to its EPS foam layer, rather than forming the two separately and taping them together later, to provide a sturdier, more solid helmet. The Influx features a Blade visor with horizontal I-beam pins to keep the visor in place with minimal intrusion, and Bell's GPS (Geared Positioning System) fitting method to deliver an easy one-hand adjustment for fit and comfort. The Bell Influx also features internal reinforcement through a composite skeleton that fortifies the helmet in the same way rebar makes concrete stronger, and cam-lock levers that make it easy to adjust the straps around your ears. For your comfort, this bicycle helmet includes 18 channeled vents that are specially designed to force cool, fresh air in through the front and around your head, while flushing warm air out of the rear ports. Bell's Influx helmet comes in three sizes, weighs 309 grams, and complies with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's safety standards for bicycle helmets. Helmet Tips--You Should Always... - Wear a helmet when you ride
- Wear your helmet low in the front to protect the forehead
- Fasten your buckle and tighten your chin strap
- Check your adjustments every time you wear your helmet
- Inspect your helmet regularly for signs of wear or damage
- Wear a helmet designed for your activity
About Bell More world champions have worn Bell Helmets than all other helmet brands combined. From Grand Prix racing through the Indy 500 to Olympic cycling, Bell helmets have played a vital role in protecting sportsmen and women for nearly 50 years. Bell began as a small auto parts store in a suburb of Los Angeles. Growing under the leadership of Roy Richter, Bell became a leader in safety equipment for auto racing, motorcycling, and then bicycling. His commitment to creating great product through a close connection with the sport, along with his trust of and care for the people who worked for him, turned Bell from a one-man operation into a multi-million dollar enterprise. His legacy lives on today in Bell's commitment to racing, quality and innovation.
Product Description The fact that this is the world's best helmet value is kind of beside the point. With features like 18 massive vents, Fusion In-Mold Microshell, Blade Visor, GPS fit system, Channeled Ventilation and Cam-lock Levers, the Influx is a great helmet at any price.

This lightweight helmet fits comfortably while keeping my head cool. September 13, 2006 L. T. Beasimer (Dallas, TX) 15 out of 16 found this review helpful
After too many years without a bike I finally decided it was time to buy one for commuting from work. Since the bike cost more than I planned for, I wanted to get a good helmet at the lowest price. I started by trying on lower priced helmets but just didn't get a comfortable fit. When I got to the Influx, the fit felt good. A month later, I'm still happy with my new helmet.
To get a proper fit, the straps must be properly adjusted. The five simple steps are detailed in the owner's manual complete with diagrams. Basically one wears the helmet in its proper position, adjusts the Cam-Lock adjustors, pull the chin strap tight, set the geared positioning system (GPS), and test the helmet's fit.
It is recommended that after an accident, the helmet be replaced, as damage is not always obvious. Bell offers a crash replacement policy for purchases in Canada and the US costing $35 in the states. Excessive heat can damage this helmet, store in a cool dry place when not in use. Heat damage is indicated by uneven or bubbly surfaces.
This lightweight helmet provides the protection I need, fits comfortably, and keeps my head cool. The Influx has proved to be a good purchase for me.
PROS:
Comfortable fit
Vented to keep you cool
Provides protection
CONS:
Removable visor can block too much field of vision at times.
Love my Bell Influx and will buy another December 28, 2007 Mike in NC (Charlotte, NC) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I just broke my Bell Influx helmet...the hard way. I was mountain biking and hooked a tree with my handlebars and went down, hitting my head on a massive root. The Bell Influx dented on the outside shell and broke clean through it's foam structure...just like it's supposed to do, absorbing the energy of the fall so that I won't. I'm happy to say that while I killed the helmet, I experienced no bruising, swelling, or pain. I love the fit, styling, and vents of the Influx and now I know it performs flawlessly in crashes as well. I intend to buy another Influx immediately!
Very pleased September 11, 2007 Tess D (Houston, TX USA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I've used it twice on long bike rides in Houston and found it very comfortable and cool. As cool is being of great importance for Houston weather, so far, I am very pleased with my purchase.
Can't Go Wrong with Bell! August 23, 2007 Argyle 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
ALL Bicycle helmets should be replaced after 1 - 3 seasons, depending on use. Over time, the injection-molded foam simply gets brittle and is no longer safe.
I'm getting ready to replace my Influx, and plan on getting another. It fits me perfectly, the Roc-Loc adjustment wheel is the best on the market, it comes in color schemes to match every taste, and it's reasonably priced. What more could you ask for?
