Product Description SWEEP XC The Sweep XC picks up where its road racing brethren (the Sweep R) left off and adds Bell's Variable Position Visor (VPV) to the mix. The VPV allows for 15 degrees of vertical adjustment by using an imbedded clutch mechanism that holds the visor firmly at the desired angle, but allows for easy, on-the-fly changes. Couple this with the 20 breezy vents, Bell's signature GPS Fit System, Fusion In-Mold Microshell and bottom wrap, internal reinforcements and clicked-in graphics and you have a helmet that's destine to go from box to podium in no time flat. Weight: 10.9 oz o 309 grams Vents: 20 (12 front, 8 back) Sizes: Small: 51-55 cm o 20"-21.75" Medium: 55-59 cm o 21.75"-23.25" Large: 59-63 cm o 23.25"-24.75" Certification: CPSC Certified Technologies: VPV Adjustable Visor Fusion In-Mold Microshell In-Mold Bottom Wrap GPS Fit System Internal Reinforcement Channeled Ventilation Cam-lock Levers
Product Description The Bell Sweep XC Racing Bike Helmet is constructed with a fusion in-mold microshell, which utilizes the process of bonding the helmet's microshell to its EPS foam layer, rather than forming the two separately and taping them together later, to provide a sturdier, more solid helmet. This helmet also utilizes an in-mold bottom wrap for durability by bonding microshell material to the lower half of the helmet. The Sweep XC features Bell's VPV (Variable Position Visor) which allows for 15-degrees of horizontal adjustment by using an imbedded clutch mechanism that holds the visor firmly at the desired angle, and Bell's GPS (Geared Positioning System) fitting method to deliver an easy one-hand adjustment for the maximum in fit and comfort. The Bell Sweep XC also features internal reinforcement through a composite skeleton that fortifies the helmet in the same way rebar makes concrete stronger, and cam-lock levers that make it easy to adjust the straps around your ears. For your comfort, this bicycle helmet includes 20 channeled vents that are specially designed to force cool, fresh air in through the front and around your head, while flushing warm air out of the rear ports. Bell's Sweep XC helmet comes in three sizes, weighs 309 grams, and complies with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's safety standards for bicycle helmets. Helmet Tips--You Should Always... - Wear a helmet when you ride
- Wear your helmet low in the front to protect the forehead
- Fasten your buckle and tighten your chin strap
- Check your adjustments every time you wear your helmet
- Inspect your helmet regularly for signs of wear or damage
- Wear a helmet designed for your activity

| Customer Reviews: A Great, Cool Helmet July 19, 2010 W. Littlejohn (Chicago, IL) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The Bell Sweep is easily the best helmet I've owned.
This is my third Bell helmet in the last decade(like others state you either have a Bell head or a Giro head). The Bell Alchera fit well but was really hot while the Bell Ghisallo fit perfectly but was just too hot when the temp got over 85. I even began to skip wearing a helmet on hot humid rides which drove my wife nuts. So I did a bit of research and decided to pay a bit more for the Sweep.
What a difference. You can actually feel the ventilation. I know this costs more but it is worth it. Not even close. I'm not much of a reviewer but this product has allowed me to enjoy riding again in hot, humid weather. As for pricing, remember all the Sweep variations are really the same helmet. The XC version includes a visor (which I don't use) but is exactly the same as the "R" so find the cheapest Sweep you can get (in your preferred color of course) and go for it.
